About The Position

PSX is a parking and security systems integrator serving commercial and industrial clients across multiple industries. We’ve been family-operated for over 55 years and focus on building a team that values quality work, accountability, and long-term relationships. We are hiring an Access Control / CCTV Technician to support installation and service of commercial access control systems, video surveillance (CCTV), IP camera systems, alarm systems, and related low-voltage security systems throughout the Pittsburgh area. This is a field-based role. After training, technicians spend approximately 90% of their time working in the field across the Pittsburgh area and about 10% handling documentation and coordination. You will be assigned a company van to take home and will typically start your day directly from the field rather than reporting to the office daily.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with access control, CCTV, alarm systems, or low-voltage field work
  • Ability to troubleshoot and complete service work independently
  • Basic networking knowledge (IP devices, connectivity troubleshooting)
  • Experience with installation, wiring, and device setup
  • Strong work ethic and communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with systems such as Genetec, Lenel, Avigilon, Brivo, Honeywell, Axis, Hanwha, OpenEye, or similar
  • Experience working for a security integrator, low-voltage contractor, AV company, telecom company, or electrical contractor
  • Experience with gate operators, turnstiles, or parking/access systems
  • Relevant certifications (OSHA, lift, low-voltage, manufacturer certifications)

Responsibilities

  • Install and service access control systems, CCTV, and IP camera systems
  • Install and troubleshoot field devices including cameras, card readers, door contacts, electric strikes, and mag locks
  • Run and terminate low-voltage cabling as needed
  • Assist with system setup, programming, testing, and commissioning
  • Troubleshoot system issues in the field and complete service calls independently
  • Read and work from drawings, plans, and project specifications
  • Complete job documentation and communicate with project managers and customers
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for nights and weekends
