About The Position

Patient access is where healthcare meets lived experience. It's the difference between a patient getting the care they need and falling through the cracks. Our Access Transformation team sits at the center of that work, partnering with clinical, operational, and IT leaders to drive access transformation across the enterprise. We're looking for an Access Consultant who brings EMR and operations knowledge, thrives at the intersection of data and workflow, and is ready to do meaningful work that directly impacts how patients in our region experience care. As an Access Consultant, you'll lead access projects, end-to-end: from discovery and design through build, change management, and implementation. You'll translate operational challenges into actionable solutions and facilitate cross-functional partnership between clinical, IT, and operational teams to drive real, measurable improvement. This is a role for someone who is detail-oriented and curious, comfortable leading through influence, and motivated by seeing complex problems get solved.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a technical or operational capacity, with demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and work effectively across teams.
  • Experience with access and scheduling workflows, physician group practice operations, and/or ancillary scheduling. You understand how clinical access works on the ground.
  • Preferred background in healthcare, information technology, business process, or logistics. You know how systems and people interact.
  • Project coordination or project management experience (formal or informal), ideally in an academic medical center or large health system.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented working style. You communicate well, follow through, and make the people around you more effective.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Epic, particularly Cadence and Template Management; Epic Cadence proficiency or certification a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related healthcare or business area required. In lieu of a degree, relevant experience will be considered
  • Preferred Epic Cadence proficiency/certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead access transformation projects, contributing to accountability, quality, and progress across workstreams spanning clinical operations, Epic IT, and access.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and face of the project, ensuring alignment, transparency, and accountable progress.
  • Develop subject matter expertise in access transformation, becoming a trusted partner and go-to resource for your team and clinical partners on assigned workstreams.
  • Translate operational needs into technical workflow solutions, partnering with Epic IT teams on current priorities such as Fast Pass, direct scheduling, and quarterly access improvement sprints.
  • Facilitate structured working sessions that enable clarity, alignment, and timely decision-making.
  • Lead without formal authority, using influence to align stakeholders and deliver results.
  • Use data and insights to guide focus, influence design recommendations, and validate decisions.
  • Navigate ambiguity with a bias toward action, maintaining momentum even when priorities shift or information is incomplete.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across executive, clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders, supporting alignment and keeping work moving.
