UnityPoint Health - Eyerly Ball Outpatient Clinic is actively recruiting for an Access Center APP to join our team in Des Moines, IA. Requirements

• NP (Nurse Practitioner), PA (Physician Associate) or PMHNP (Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner) Board Certified
• Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
• Eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• The provider practices autonomously and in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage clients’ psychiatric illnesses.
• Provides psychiatric evaluations, medication management and brief psychotherapy.
• Collaborates, consults and/or refers patients to a psychiatrist when appropriate to ensure quality patient care.
• Sees patients on a walk-in basis for urgent and non-urgent mental health care
• Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
• Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
• Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills
• Provides psychiatric evaluations
• Provides diagnostic, prescriptive pharmacological treatments and follow-up medication management to patients
• Demonstrates expertise in the interpretations of biopsychosocial data regarding client status and assumes accountability and responsibility for interventions prescribed
• Treats crisis situations and emergencies, as needed
