The Acceptable Knowledge Expert supports the Acceptable Knowledge Organization within the Contact-Handled Transuranic Programs Department at the Idaho Cleanup Project. This position extracts, analyzes, validates, and summarizes Process Knowledge and Acceptable Knowledge information from production, historical, and document databases to support investigations, issue resolution, document development, waste characterization, and treatment decisions. The role works collaboratively with internal teams, external Department of Energy organizations, the Carlsbad Field Office, and DOE Idaho personnel. The successful candidate must be capable of qualifying as a Waste Isolation Pilot Plant Acceptable Knowledge Expert and will evaluate and document historical information from multiple waste generators and generation processes at Idaho National Laboratory and from off-site generators that transferred transuranic waste to the site.
