About The Position

The ACC GROW High School Intern position is a paid summer internship designed to provide high school students with hands-on work experience at Austin Community College while developing essential career readiness skills. Through structured on-campus employment and weekly career planning sessions, students will gain real-world experience, build professional skills, and explore career pathways aligned with their interests.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled high school student (rising junior or senior preferred)
• Ability to commit to the full program duration (June 8 – August 7, 2026)
• Ability to work up to 19 hours per week
• Interest in gaining work experience and exploring career pathways
• Basic understanding of customer service principles
• Awareness of professional behavior in a workplace setting
• Understanding of the importance of communication, teamwork, and accountability
• Ability to maintain a consistent work schedule
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Basic organizational and time management skills
• Ability to follow directions and complete tasks independently or as part of a team
• Willingness to learn and take initiative
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of work-related information

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors
• Assist with front desk operations, student support, and general inquiries
• Support daily operations, events, or programming activities
• Utilize technology systems and tools to complete assigned tasks
• Maintain a professional and welcoming environment
• Complete assigned projects and tasks in a timely and accurate manner
• Actively participate in career readiness and reflection activities
• Demonstrate growth in workplace skills and competencies
• Apply feedback from supervisors and Career Specialists
• Engage in learning opportunities that connect work experience to future goals
