Academy Travel Instructor
About The Position
Viessmann, part of Carrier Global Corporation, manufactures hot water heating products and offers hot water and chilled water solutions including condensing boilers and air-to-air, air-to-water, and ground-source heat pumps. The Academy Travel Instructor will build expertise in Viessmann products and deliver engaging, informative product education and training to North America Sales Representatives and customers. The role includes in-field training for sales teams, wholesalers and distributors, and trade contractors and dealers, as well as contributing to Academy curricula and developing tools to support effective territory training. This is a remote position within the United States. Preferred candidates will be located in the West or Midwest and must live near a major airport to support business travel. Travel may be up to 75% of the time for in-territory classroom training or other needs across the United States and Canada.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with a trade school certificate, or at least 5 years of apprenticeship.
- At least 3 years of experience in residential and/or commercial HVAC/R.
- At least 2 years of public speaking or teaching experience.
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time for in-territory classroom training or as needed in North America, including the United States and Canada.

- Gas fitter and/or refrigeration tradesperson licensing.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets and Microsoft Word or Google Docs.
Responsibilities
- Develop expertise in the Viessmann product line, including installation, start-up and commissioning, service, troubleshooting, and associated technology.
- Establish and showcase a distinctive teaching style that maximizes student engagement and retention.
- Deliver targeted, high-impact training for sales teams, wholesalers and distributors, and trade contractors and dealers.
- Collaborate with other Academy instructors and contribute to Academy curricula, including creating and maintaining presentations, course agendas, and class handouts adapted for in-territory and travel training.
- Assist in developing, designing, and implementing tools for in-territory training, such as traveling control simulators and the infomobile mobile-training unit fleet, to improve training effectiveness.
- Oversee and, when needed, assist with driving, maintaining, and servicing the infomobile fleet.
- Perform additional tasks as required during the business year.
