About The Position

The Academy Strength and Conditioning Coach is an entry-level, development-focused position responsible for delivering the organization’s strength and conditioning programming at the academy level, working with players in Jupiter, FL and or at the Dominican Academy. Under the direction of the Director and Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning, this role focuses on building the athletic foundation of young, developing players, improving movement quality, strength, speed, and establishing the training habits, nutrition awareness, and routines that support long-term development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or a related field
  • CSCS certification (mandatory)
  • Prior coaching experience through collegiate or professional internships
  • Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
  • Availability Monday through Sunday, including mornings and/or evenings as required
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift weights typically found in a gym setting
  • Ability to demonstrate athletic movements
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screening
  • Ability to uphold organizational standards of professionalism and conduct

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Exercise Science or a related field
  • Experience working in baseball or high-performance sport settings
  • Fluent in Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Execute the strength, speed, and energy system development programs for assigned academy and players.
  • Lead daily prep, lifts, and on-field speed sessions. Provide feedback and cueing, monitor movement quality and intent, and set the daily standard for energy and attention to detail.
  • Daily involvement of usage with GPS monitoring, force plate testing, and other physical assessments.
  • Teach foundational lifting technique, training terminology, and habits around recovery routines.
  • Coordinate and support daily work with academy coaches, medical staff, and other performance staff.
  • Oversee off-season strength and conditioning plans for assigned players to ensure continuous physical development year round.
  • Track off-season progress and adjust programs as necessary. Maintain regular communication with players and staff to ensure goals are met effectively.
  • You may be asked to participate in an off-season instructional camp, which will provide an opportunity to further develop your skills and prepare for the upcoming season.
