About The Position

Prep Academy Tutors is a private in-home tutoring company that delivers flexible and personalized tutoring programs to students aged four to twenty, specializing in all subject areas. We hire only the best, including certified teachers or those completing their Education degrees, and offer higher than average wages. We are seeking an Academic Tutor with 15-20 years of teaching experience, specifically with neurodivergent learners, holding an OCT certificate, and available for in-home sessions in Leslieville. The role involves providing academic support aligned with the Ontario curriculum, creating supplemental assignments, offering remedial and enrichment support, and communicating student progress with parents or guardians. This position is ideal for qualified teachers looking to start this summer and continue into the school year.

Requirements

15-20 years experience as a teacher
Experience working with neurodivergent learners
OCT certificate
Ability to work in home in Leslieville
Energetic and enthusiastic teachers with experience teaching
Committed to providing excellent customer service
Enjoy working with students & families
Great communication skills
Hold a registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
Qualified to teach in a Canadian Province/Territory outside of Ontario
Qualified to teach in the United States
A current teacher candidate; pursuing a bachelor of education
Experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited Canadian University or College

Responsibilities

Provide academic support to students based on expertise and knowledge based on the Ontario curriculum.
Provide supplemental assignments to students to help promote greater understanding of material.
Provide remedial and enrichment support for students.
Communicate with parents or guardians to discuss student progress.
