About The Position

The University of Louisville and UofL Health are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Academic Physiatrist to join their expanding Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. This role offers opportunities in general rehabilitation medicine and neurorehabilitation, with clinical practice in both inpatient and outpatient settings at Frazier Rehabilitation Institute. The position emphasizes teaching, research, and clinical practice within a collegial academic environment. The ideal candidate will have interests in general rehabilitation medicine and/or neurorehabilitation, with a commitment to educating residents and treating patients, and the potential to advance to the role of PM&R Residency Program Director. The PM&R Residency Program is a long-standing categorical program with a 100% match rate for graduating residents securing their desired fellowships.

Requirements

Medical Doctorate degree
Physician license for state of Kentucky
ACLS/BLS Certification

Nice To Haves

Epic EMR experience is preferred.
Strong computer and keyboarding skills

Responsibilities

Assesses the physical status of clients through interview, health history and physical examination and both inpatient and outpatient services.
Formulates treatment plans for health problems and follow-ups.
Writes prescriptions for medication, blood tests and routine diagnostic and follow-up studies and therapeutic measures.
Evaluates the quality of care provided and recommends changes for improvement.
Shares clinical expertise with personnel.
Documents and reports care in an accurate and timely manner.
Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct.
Performs other duties as assigned.
