About The Position

The Academic Monitor for Academic Support Services for Athletics is responsible for ensuring students check in and out of the Center using ARMS, enforcing facility rules, documenting and addressing disruptive behavior, maintaining facility cleanliness, managing paper supply for printers, and securing the facility at closing. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to policies, and good communication skills.

Requirements

  • Must have a 2.7 cumulative GPA or above.
  • Must be able to commit to at least 10 hours per week.
  • Must be a degree-seeking undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral student at St. Thomas.
  • Must be actively enrolled at least part-time in courses for credit.

Nice To Haves

  • Morning, Evening, and Sunday availability preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure every student checks in and out of the Center through ARMS.
  • Enforce facility rules: no food or drink (secured-top water bottles acceptable), no loud music, and cell phone conversations taken outside.
  • Document and report incidents of disruptive behavior, including warning students and asking them to leave if necessary.
  • Email incident reports to the Associate Director.
  • Check facility cleanliness at the end of each shift (wipe tables, pick up trash).
  • Complete a status report for closing shifts, noting observations about printers and sending it to the Associate Director.
  • Lock doors and turn out all lights at closing.
  • Periodically check paper supply for printers and notify the Associate Director to obtain more.
