About The Position
The University of Virginia Department of Neurological Surgery is seeking tenure-eligible PhD neuroscientists with expertise in Cerebrovascular diseases and Brain Injury, such as stroke, aneurysm and vascular malformations, intracerebral hemorrhage and traumatic brain injury in animals and/or humans, to fill multiple Academic Investigator positions.
Requirements
- MD and/or PhD in neurosciences or related fields
- Track record for conducting basic and/or translational research with successful or promising submissions to NIH and other sponsors
- Proven history of publication in peer-reviewed neurological journals
Responsibilities
- Engage in research projects
- Apply for internal and external grants to support this research
- Publish results
- Support resident education and research
- Participate in resident and medical student teaching sessions
- Participate in regional and national presentations
