This position is for the 2026-27 school year at Whittier Middle School. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Evidence of successful work history and/or experience working with youth
  • Requires hearing, hand-eye coordination, mind-eye coordination, keyboarding and telephoning.
  • Frequent repetitive motions with wrists, hands, fingers.
  • Frequent physical management of students.
  • Regular, reliable attendance.
  • Experience with behavior management.
  • Ability to use a computer for word processing and data entry.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Regular contact with students with emotional, cognitive and/or conduct-related disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a contact and liaison between students, teachers, and parents for student homework completion.
  • Communicates with counselors and administrators about academic concerns for individual students.
  • Corresponds with students, teachers, and parents about uncompleted school work and provides early intervention communication between all three shareholders.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of students and their families.
  • Will provide academic supports to students who are missing work, or students who need intervention on certain standards throughout the day.
  • Will work with teachers and counselors to determine which students need intervention and when that intervention should occur.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.
