About The Position

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology seek an Academic Gastroenterologist for Advanced Endoscopy. Candidates will be qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will practice in Morgantown, WV and/or Wheeling, WV, focusing on Gastroenterology/Advanced Endoscopy. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, it is expected that candidates sustain an outstanding, extramurally supported research program.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Eligible to obtain a West Virginia medical license.
  • Completed an accredited internal medicine residency program.
  • Completed a gastroenterology fellowship.
  • Completed an advanced endoscopy fellowship at the time of appointment.
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership (for Associate Professor or Professor rank).
  • Excellent communication skills (for Associate Professor or Professor rank).
  • Publications in high-impact journals (for Associate Professor or Professor rank).

Responsibilities

  • Practice in the areas of Gastroenterology/Advanced Endoscopy.
  • Provide excellent patient care.
  • Actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Sustain an outstanding, extramurally supported research program (for Associate Professor or Professor rank).
