About The Position

Women's College Hospital (WCH) is an academic, ambulatory care hospital in Ontario with a focus on health for women, health equity and health system solutions. This is an exciting opportunity as a Temporary Part-Time, Academic & Education Coordinator in the Department of Psychiatry. The role is a replacement position for a duration of 6 months. The Academic & Education Coordinator plays a critical role in acting as an advocate for safety and will demonstrate principles, practices and processes that will optimize a safe environment for all. Requirements

  • University or College education required
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to relate in a professional manner with all levels of hospital personnel
  • Ability to multitask proficiently

  • Ability to meet deadlines successfully
  • Proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft Suite
  • Excel spreadsheet coding familiarity or expertise

  • Problem-solving within policy requirements
  • Proven attendance and punctuality.
  • Professional behaviour and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable, and the standards of Women’s College Hospital

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years’ related experience in a medical or academic environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Administration of all incoming learners, including liaison, registration, onboarding, scheduling, and ongoing communication
  • Ongoing communication and collaboration with for department, hospital, and university educational staff for all levels of medical training
  • Attend and support meetings relevant to medical education
  • Maintain records of use/availability of trainee office space and office equipment related to learners
  • Maintain records of clinical supervision commitments across programs and psychiatrists to oversee clinical-wide capacity.
  • Maintains records of psychiatrists’ clinical supervision commitments and provides subsequent summaries and reports as needed.
  • Attends and prepares tracking documents for annual academic and education committee meetings by providing psychiatrists with annual supervision reports.
  • Assists psychiatrists with promotions process through U of T by consolidating necessary documentation and providing summary reports of clinical supervision history.
  • Identifies areas of improvement for administrative functionality based on feedback and observation of residents and psychiatrists
  • Acts with integrity, honesty, and knowledge to promote the culture, mission, and values of Women's College Hospital
