About The Position

The Academic Director of IT and Cybersecurity ensures quality and relevancy of the Information Technology program. Reviews the needs of the community with respect to IT skills and ensures the College curriculum content and modality match these needs. Develops curriculum roadmaps and makes updates to match the needs of future industry. Leads the Center of Excellence and all aspects of operations, student workplace-based learning, strategic growth and student learning. The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology or a closely related field of study
  • Five to eight years of related experience in IT systems architecture, networking, and programming required
  • at least 3 years of project and/or program management experience
  • Three years of supervisory experience
  • An equivalent combination of certification, education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in or a closely related field of study
  • Eight plus years of related experience with course development and instruction
  • Knowledge of computer and network operating systems
  • Knowledge of project management principles, processes, and techniques
  • Knowledge and application of various instructional methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Directs the activities of the department.
  • Plans, coordinates, and evaluates programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and service offerings
  • Develops programs and courses to meet upcoming needs and industry trends.
  • Contributes to the consistency of the overall mission and vision of the College by providing sound instructional programs and student support services
  • Supervises faculty and staff, prioritizes and assigns work, and conducts performance evaluations.
  • Makes hiring, training, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
  • Provides leadership and team development for staff
  • Makes data driven decisions based on community needs assessments to design IT curriculum.
  • Develops curriculum roadmaps for course development to ensure curriculum relevancy and quality
  • Coordinates workforce, dual enrollment, credit and non-credit efforts
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, codes, and standards
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor
