Under limited supervision, this position provides advanced professional support by providing opportunities for Upward Bound participants to develop social skills, cultural competence, study skills, and academic skills appropriate for their educational goals. Works with low-income, first generation, or academically disadvantaged high school students to help them develop the skills needed to become successful college students. Provides academic advisement, mentoring support services to participants in the TRIO Upward Bound Programs. Responsible for career exploration, assistance with completing college and financial aid applications, secondary and post-secondary school course selection, assistance with the college course registration process, and resolution of individual academic issues. Serves as the liaison between high schools and Broward College to ensure implementation and successful progress towards project objectives. Collaborates with other campuses and Broward County Schools personnel to provide support and assist in the development of skills and motivation to help participants become successful college students. This is a temporary position which is contingent upon continuation of grant funding which ends on August 31, 2027. The incumbent is subject to annual performance evaluation and grant contract renewal.
