About The Position

The Academic Coach is directly responsible to the curriculum department for Problem Solving/Response to Intervention Method of evaluating at-risk students. The Coach will assist teachers in the use of interventions and strategies that support students who are considered at-risk, either academically or behaviorally. This position will lead all campuses in the collection and use of data to determine appropriate interventions and gauge the success of the academics. The Coach will be responsible for the delivery of Tier 3 of the RTI model for many areas including all core subject areas, emotional and/or behavioral problems, academic and discipline problems at all grade levels.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Educational Administration or related field.
  • Five years of successful teaching experience.
  • All positions require experience working cross-culturally and/or commitment to work toward improving one's own cultural competence
  • Arizona Department of Education Certification appropriate to assignment.
  • IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Able to perform the following physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation: critical sensory requirements include general vision, corrected to 20/20, hear or listen in the normal range (corrected) and speak and give directions clearly.
  • Able to walk, sit, stand, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, lift (exerting force up to 50 pounds), carry, push, or pull.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and conduct RTI meetings on all campuses
  • Maintain all RTI student files and paperwork
  • Assist classroom teachers in planning classroom level interventions for at-risk students
  • Assist classroom teachers, intervention teachers, specials education, tutors, specialists, etc in monitoring the progress of students receiving Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions
  • Assist classroom teachers in facilitating professional learning communities
  • Provide professional development at a school and district level
  • Perform any other assigned duties
