About The Position

West Ridge Elementary, a 27J School in Thornton, CO, is seeking a dedicated Academic & Behavioral Interventionist to provide targeted, data-driven support to students who need additional intervention to succeed academically and behaviorally. This role is central to West Ridge's Unified Improvement Plan (UIP) goals in ELA, Math, and Behavior and will work closely with the MTSS team, classroom teachers, and school leadership to close gaps and build a strong, consistent culture of support for every student. This is a full-time, or 1.0 FTE position.

Requirements

  • A valid Colorado Department of Education Teaching License/Authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide small-group and individual academic interventions in reading and math aligned to FastBridge and CMAS data, and progress-monitor student growth.
  • Deliver consistent, proactive behavioral interventions and supports that reinforce clear expectations and de-escalation strategies across classrooms and common areas.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers during PLC time to identify students needing Tier 2/3 support and to align interventions with core instruction.
  • Support the implementation of Building Thinking Classrooms practices by reinforcing productive struggle and student ownership during intervention sessions.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of intervention plans, progress data, and behavior incident trends to inform MTSS team decisions.
  • Partner with school counselors, special education staff, and administration to ensure a coordinated, wraparound approach for students with the greatest needs.
  • Build trusting, consistent relationships with students, families, and staff that reflect West Ridge's culture of high expectations and genuine care.
  • Assist in monitoring and reinforcing schoolwide behavior systems to promote consistency across all classrooms and common spaces.
