About The Position

The Academic Affairs Manager (AAM) role is a field-based position within Hill's US Professional and Veterinary Affairs (PVA) Team. This team serves as Hill's direct connection to the veterinary profession and the broader animal health industry. The AAM is the direct point of contact between the company and Colleges of Veterinary Medicine (CVMs) and Veterinary Technician Schools (VTS). This position reports to the Professional Strategic Initiatives Manager-Schools. Academic Affairs Managers engage with key contacts in schools, providing education and influence to ensure students, faculty, house officers, and school staff have the knowledge and tools needed to confidently feed and recommend Hill's products. Their work ultimately ensures Hill's is positioned as a valuable and trusted partner, providing scientific, evidence-based advancements in the field of nutrition and demonstrating dedication to transforming the lives of people and their pets. This role is based out of the employee's home office in or near Kansas City, St. Louis, Chicago, or Denver and surrounding areas, providing both virtual and in-person coverage to 6-7 veterinary colleges in the surrounding states, as assigned. Overnight travel is required, averaging 2-3 nights per week, but will vary week to week.

Requirements

  • Doctorate Professional degree in veterinary medicine (DVM, VMD or equivalent)
  • At least 4+ years of clinical practice experience
  • Current, active license to practice veterinary medicine in at least one state.
  • Licensed Medical Veterinarian in DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State in the US

Responsibilities
