Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Experience in academic advising, career counseling, student development counseling, student support services, or a related higher education experience
  • Knowledge of experiential learning and developmental advising
  • Demonstrated excellence in conversation skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain and compile student records
  • Ability to build rapport with students, faculty, and staff
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others or in teams
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
  • At least two years of experience in academic advising, career counseling, student development counseling, student support services, or a related higher education experience

Responsibilities

  • Advise undergraduate students in the College of Education and Health Professions in the creation and implementation of achievable academic plans
  • Assist with the development and revision of advising related materials and processes
  • Provide ample appointments to support student conversations and academic questions
  • Work with the faculty and program coordinators of assigned academic units to disseminate information and resources to students
  • Support student success initiatives in the college and campus
  • Assist with new student orientation and other college recruiting efforts
