The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences seeks an Academic Advisor II to advise undergraduate students in our social sciences unit. This advisor will likely support students pursuing a major in psychology and assist with students in the social science degree areas of criminal justice, political science, and sociology. The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is the most academically varied college at Iowa State University. With 21 academic departments, one professional school, over 50 undergraduate majors, and more than 20 cross-disciplinary programs, the college plays a central role in nearly every major offered at Iowa State. Successful candidates will bring a student-centered lens to advising, have a preference for collaboration, and possess experience advising, counseling or teaching a variety of populations in one-on-one and group meetings. They will also possess excellent communication, organization, leadership, and time management skills.
