About The Position

The ACA QA Manager is responsible for ensuring facility compliance with various standards, including those from contracting agencies like ICE National Detention Standards and Department of Homeland Security/PREA standards. This role involves developing work plans, identifying facility needs and resources for self-evaluations, assigning tasks to staff, and creating schedules for audits. The manager must determine the applicability of standards, compose explanations for non-applicable standards or waivers, and ensure the facility meets specific compliance percentages for ACA Detention Standards. A key responsibility is developing Corrective Action Plans (CAP) for any deficiencies found during inspections or audits, and reviewing PREA Incident Reports for accuracy and proper documentation before submission to contracting agencies. The role also includes promoting positive social skills and adhering to safety practices.

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Four years related experience including word processing and computer data entry.
  • Must type a minimum of 60 words per minute.

Responsibilities

  • Annual review and revision of facility policies and procedures, and compliance with changes to contracting agencies' policies and procedures.
  • Assist in clarifying the meaning and intent of standards with staff.
  • Create individual files in accordance with standardized formats for contracting agencies.
  • Develop a work plan to provide structure for accomplishing all requisite activities within a defined timeframe.
  • Identify facility needs, specific tasks, and resources required to conduct self-evaluations and bring the facility into compliance with standards.
  • Identify staff responsible for performing specific tasks related to their areas of responsibility.
  • Provide a schedule for task completion in preparation for audits.
  • Determine the applicability of standards to the facility.
  • Compose explanations for not applicable standards and waivers.
  • Confirm facility meets 100% of mandatory standards and 90% of non-mandatory standards of ACA Detention Standards.
  • Develop Corrective Action Plans (CAP) for any findings/deficiencies noted as a result of inspections and/or audits.
  • Review PREA Incident Reports, ensuring they are properly written and documented, before they are sent to contracting agencies.
  • Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
  • Adhere to all safety practices.
  • Perform a variety of marginal duties as needed.
