The HVAC Service Technician will test and troubleshoot AC systems, continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. This role involves working from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs, and troubleshooting, maintaining, modifying, and repairing heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, fans, fan motors, and associated safety and protection devices to ensure peak efficiency and energy conservation. The technician will also provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates, diagnose system malfunctions, locate causes of breakdowns, connect wires to components, inspect electrical systems for hazards, and advise management of hazardous equipment. Additionally, the role includes planning, monitoring, installing, and adjusting heating and cooling equipment using energy management systems, performing installations and modifications to mechanical and cooling systems, and conducting corrective and preventive maintenance on various units and equipment. A strong background in HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including hands-on experience in operating and troubleshooting systems, is essential.
