Opportunity awaits! Our Office of Training, Investigations and Safety is hiring an Abuse Investigations Coordinator (Program Analyst 3) to join our team. In this position, you will oversee abuse investigations, screenings and death reviews occurring at the county level pertaining to individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities or receiving Behavioral Health services. Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, human or social services, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and four (4) years’ experience coordinating or administering a program OR;
  • Any combination of experience or education equivalent to seven (7) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification.

  • Requires a valid driver's license or other acceptable method of transportation for routine travel.

Responsibilities

  • Perform coordination and oversight of mental health and developmental disability abuse investigations, abuse screenings, death reviews, protective services and response system.
  • Develop standards of program operation for mental health and developmental disability abuse programs using trauma-informed principles and practices.
  • Testify at administrative hearings and legislature about the program.
  • Use administrative rules to plan service delivery as well as improve the performance and efficiency of delivery of investigative and protective services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships by partnering with municipal governments, service providers, a variety of community organizations (e.g., domestic violence and sexual assault services), legal services including Oregon's protection and advocacy agency, Medicaid fraud, licensing boards including the Board of Medical Examiners, local multidisciplinary teams (MDT), the criminal justice system and state licensing units to protect service recipients from abuse and neglect.
  • Develop and deliver training to partners including county mental health and developmental disabilities services, judicial system, consumers, service providers, law enforcement, Department of Human Services’ staff, and the public.
  • Collaborate with managers and investigators regarding complex, high profile cases or where the local program has a conflict of interest.
  • Provide technical assistance, including policy guidance, statutory and administrative rule interpretation to county mental health and developmental disability abuse investigators and management.
