About The Position

Daydream is developing the first AI-native instrument, the Daydream VST, which allows users to play, perform, and shape AI-generated audio in real-time within their chosen DAW. The underlying engine, DEMON, is open-source. The company is seeking to hire an individual to create educational content for musicians and producers, focusing on the capabilities of the Daydream VST, particularly with Ableton Live.

Requirements

  • Proven experience creating compelling DAW content.
  • Deep knowledge of Ableton Live.
  • Understanding of MIDI mapping and performance workflows.
  • A body of work demonstrating content creation skills (not a role for learning on the job).
  • View AI as a resource, sounding board, and creative partner.
  • Natural teaching ability with clear and plain English explanations of difficult concepts.
  • Possess taste and a clear artistic direction.
  • Comfortable producing high-quality edited video content at scale.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing audience.
  • Experience with the VST format.
  • Experience with hardware controllers.
  • Experience with live performance.
  • Familiarity with other DAWs.
  • Familiarity with TouchDesigner.

Responsibilities

  • Create genuinely great educational content for musicians and producers.
  • Focus content on understanding the power of the Daydream VST, with Ableton Live as a central element.
  • Develop straightforward content covering topics like loading the plugin, mapping latent space to faders/knobs, building live remixes, and scheduling parameter curves.
  • Create aspirational content showcasing the possibilities of playing an AI model as an instrument.
  • Produce a mix of content formats including longer tutorials, short social-first clips (X, Instagram, TikTok), and aspirational Ableton performance pieces.
  • Ensure content is interesting rather than strictly template-driven.

Benefits

  • Early access to features before they ship.
  • Direct line to the people building the engine.
