About The Position

The ABAC Compliance Operations Manager will support the implementation, execution, and continuous improvement of Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption (“ABAC”) compliance operations across a complex, multinational energy enterprise operating in high-risk jurisdictions. This role sits within the ABAC Compliance team and will focus on strengthening day-to-day operational execution, improving ABAC processes and controls, supporting third-party risk management (“TPRM”) system implementation, managing issues through resolution, and coordinating risk-based due diligence activities. The role will partner closely with Legal, Digital Technology, Commercial, Sourcing, HR, and business stakeholders to help ensure ABAC processes are executed consistently, accurately, and in alignment with approved policies, standards, procedures, and regulatory expectations. The ABAC Compliance Operations Manager will be expected to identify inefficiencies, control gaps, and recurring issues, and to support practical enhancements that improve scalability, user experience, control effectiveness, and operational transparency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, accounting, business, finance, compliance, risk management, or another relevant field.
  • Approximately 5–8 years of experience in ABAC compliance, third-party risk management, compliance operations, due diligence, audit, internal controls, risk management, or a related function.
  • Working knowledge of third-party risk management frameworks, due diligence processes, ABAC controls, and issue management practices.
  • Experience supporting operational processes in complex, global, multi-system environments.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, track issues to closure, and support cross-functional execution in a fast-paced global environment.
  • Practical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to escalate risks and operational issues appropriately.

  • Experience supporting system implementation, workflow improvement, user testing, reporting, or process transformation initiatives is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support design and execution of ABAC compliance processes in accordance with approved policies, standards, and procedures, including processes related to third-party management, conflicts of interest, gifts, hospitality, and related ABAC controls.
  • Help monitor whether ABAC controls are operating as designed, identify execution issues, and escalate material process or control concerns as appropriate.
  • Identify inefficiencies, manual touchpoints, process gaps, and recurring operational pain points, and support the design and implementation of practical process improvements.
  • Gather and assess feedback from business users and stakeholders to help improve ABAC processes, system workflows, and user experience.
  • Support documentation and maintenance of ABAC procedures, job aids, process maps, and control guidance to promote consistent global execution.
  • Support implementation and adoption of TPRM system workflows and ABAC-related automated controls in partnership with Digital Technology, Sourcing, Commercial, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with operational readiness activities, including requirements gathering, user testing, workflow validation, change management, training support, and post-launch issue tracking.
  • Help translate ABAC process and control requirements into system-enabled workflows that reduce manual touchpoints and improve consistency across global operations.
  • Monitor adoption of system-enabled controls and help identify opportunities to improve data quality, workflow efficiency, and stakeholder experience.
  • Coordinate the intake, tracking, escalation, and drive closure of ABAC operational issues, including issues arising from due diligence, system workflows, control execution, audit findings, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Maintain clear issue logs, action plans, owners, timelines, and status updates to support timely resolution and accountability.
  • Analyze recurring issues and themes to identify root causes, systemic control gaps, or opportunities for process improvement.
  • Escalate material risks, delays, or unresolved issues to ABAC Compliance leadership and relevant stakeholders in a timely and practical manner.
  • Support the review, escalation, and resolution of third-party due diligence findings in accordance with established procedures.
  • Coordinate with Commercial, Sourcing, Legal, and business stakeholders to help ensure third-party risk reviews are completed efficiently, consistently, and in line with ABAC requirements.
  • Assist in identifying and documenting due diligence red flags, mitigation steps, approvals, and closure evidence.
  • Provide operational support and guidance to stakeholders on ABAC-related third-party management processes and issue resolution.
  • Support the development and maintenance of operational reporting and metrics for ABAC activities, including process performance, control execution, issue status, due diligence activity, and remediation progress.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, emerging risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assist with internal audits, external audits, regulatory inquiries, and compliance reviews by helping provide accurate, timely, and well-organized information.
  • Help maintain evidence of control execution, issue remediation, and process governance in a manner that supports audit readiness and defensibility.
  • Partner with training and communications stakeholders to support training materials, guidance, and communications related to ABAC processes, tools, and control expectations.
  • Collaborate with other compliance domains, including trade controls, business operations, training and communications, and ethics and investigations, to support aligned and consistent approaches to risk management and control execution.
  • Contribute to broader Compliance initiatives, special projects, and sensitive matters requiring coordinated compliance engagement across multiple risk areas.
  • Share lessons learned and operational best practices to help strengthen the broader compliance framework and promote a culture of integrity.
