About The Position

Damar is seeking passionate individuals to join their mission-driven team as an ABA Therapist, empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or autism. ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) focuses on learning principles like positive reinforcement to bring about meaningful behavioral change. This role involves implementing ABA therapy techniques in client-based sessions to achieve goals outlined in behavior plans, focusing on verbal behavior, behavior modification, treatment plan implementation, data collection, and intervention. The work is primarily clinic-based, with opportunities at three locations in Avon and Indianapolis. The position offers a starting pay of $20.00 per hour and a Monday-Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be flexible and willing to work at any of the Damar ABA clinics
• Ability to pass and maintain Critical Moments Training (CMT) Certification
• Ability to pass and maintain CPR Certification
• Minimum age of 18 per licensure requirements
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
• Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
• Successfully complete a pre-employment physical
• Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening

Responsibilities

• Follow ABA therapy techniques in specialized, client based sessions in order to successfully reach goals per the client's behavior plan by performing a variety of duties related to verbal behavior, behavior modification, treatment plan implementation, data collection and intervention in individual treatment of clients.
• Provide direct services to children diagnosed with Autism in an ABA setting using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
• Maintain neat, chronological documentation of all goals and behaviors
• Provide crisis intervention as necessary
• Interact professionally with parents, school, medical personnel, and others using only excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Keep abreast of current treatment technology, literature, practices, and regulations
• Ensure that the agency meets it quality improvement, evaluation and reporting requirements
• Respect the culture, diversity and rights of all clients, their families and the community
