About The Position

Leominster Public Schools is seeking an ABA paraprofessional to assist students in the classroom with all instructional materials as determined by the assigned teacher. The role also involves helping students with needs outside of the classroom that are related to achieving necessary skills and requirements for succeeding in school. This is a full-time, school-year position.

Requirements

Associates Degree or Passed the Para Pro Test preferred.
Have ability to relate to and work with disabled children.
Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.

Responsibilities

Assist the students with all instructional and non-instructional tasks as assigned by the teacher.
Assist the students with the preparation of all materials and books.
Assist the teacher in related clerical work.
Use computers and/or electronic equipment to fulfill job functions and support remote learning.
Serve as a role model for students and staff in demonstrating positive attitudes, appropriate attire and grooming, and effective work ethic.
Participate in appropriate workshop programs and attend any required meetings.
Display ethical behavior in working with students, parents, school personnel, and outside agencies associated with the school.
Protect confidentiality of records, IEPs and information gained as part of exercising professional duties and use discretion in sharing such information within legal confines.
Provide student support and management of classroom assessments and MCAS.
Provide classroom coverage.
Provide individual accommodations and modifications per students IEP.
Provide community supports (field trips and/or vocational sites).
Provide agenda and homework supervision.
Provide small group and individual instruction.
Provide daily check-ins for students.
