About The Position

The ABA Clinical Supervisor provides services utilizing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) to individuals with autism spectrum disorder. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for completing a range of client assessments and assisting in ensuring the clinical integrity of the IBHS-ABA designated team, including BCBAs, BCs, and BHTs/Registered Behavior Technicians. The Clinical Supervisor demonstrates adherence to the clinical model as well as the regulatory policies and procedures at The Center for Autism.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree required in a clinical field, such as clinical social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, etc.
  • Degree must include a minimum of 12 credit hours in core behavioral health coursework.
  • Minimum of two years of verified post-master’s experience providing mental health treatment, including psychotherapy, counseling, and assessment, to children and/or adolescents
  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • Ability to utilize and facilitate a collaborative, team-oriented approach
  • Expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Knowledge and understanding of CASSP Principles, behavior modification, social/ecological theory and application, family systems theory and application, cognitive-behavioral theory and clinical application, and child and family development
  • Crisis intervention and management skills
  • Knowledge of the current DSM
  • Basic knowledge/understanding of common psychotropic medications
  • Experience working with and supervising diverse populations
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to diverse audiences and in diverse venues
  • Ability to hire and develop a caliber staff capable of providing high-quality services, accountable to job responsibilities, and motivated to achieve high performance
  • Strong computer skills in all Microsoft Office applications, including data management skills
  • Ability to resolve complex problems and issues
  • Valid Childline, PA criminal history, FBI, and medical clearances, as well as any other clearances required by the agency or contractors

Nice To Haves

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification
  • Licensure in Pennsylvania as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Professional Counselor (LPC), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Psychologist

Responsibilities

  • Complete Functional Behavior Assessments and Skills Assessments for assigned clients across settings.
  • Assess and implement standardized assessment and supervision tools that are aligned with CBH ABA performance standards.
  • Provide consultation to the assigned caseload in the implementation of the treatment and behavior support plan, implementation of behavioral assessment measures, functional behavioral assessment, and treatment plan implementation.
  • Provide clinical services to assigned cases, as clinically indicated.
  • Provide in vivo guidance, training, and support to the IBHS-ABA team.
  • Support in ABA staff training to ensure compliance with CBH ABA performance standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all PHMC/CFA policies and procedures, including confidentiality and acting as a mandated reporter in accordance with the law, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide back-up coverage and support clinical services in the absence of ABA staff.
  • Provide clinical supervision of IBHS-ABA staff, as needed.
  • Assist in the interview process for IBHS-ABA staff, including BHTs/RBTs, ABCs, and BCs.
  • Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with all team members.
  • Achieve weekly productivity and billing targets.
  • Attend interagency meetings to coordinate the design of treatment plans and service recommendations.
  • Complete all required documentation in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Provide clinical information to the evaluating psychologist/psychiatrist as required or requested.
  • Review treatment plans, progress notes, and data collection to ensure quality, timeliness, and compliance with format adherence to the ABA model, as outlined in CBH performance standards.
  • Ensure that all cases are monitored to ensure the billable status of services.
  • Participate in and complete all CBH mandatory in-services. These trainings must be completed within three months of hire and annually from the date of the initial training.
  • Participate in at least 10 hours of documented Continuing Education Units (additional in-service) per year (“year” is defined as twelve months after the date of hire).
  • Collaborate with and address any concerns from parents, CBH, schools, and/or the agency/administration.
  • Communicate consistently and effectively with BCBAs, LBCs, and BHT/RBTs regarding the status of authorizations, i.e., hours, location, and time frame of authorization.
  • Document accurately all communications with staff.
  • Provide ABA treatment for the community-based ABA program team when there is a staff shortage.
  • Convene team meetings to provide crisis intervention when situations arise.
  • Foster a strengths-based, trauma-informed, accountable, committed, and motivated environment.
  • Foster a climate that attracts, retains, and motivates high performance and adherence to the ABA treatment model.
  • Ensure the caliber of diverse staff with skills appropriate to meet the needs of those served.
  • Model CFA’s/PHMC’s core competencies, holding staff accountable to do the same.
  • Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate as a multidisciplinary staff team member through formal meetings, informal consultations, and committee participation.
  • Model traits of a responsible team member by executing job responsibilities, open communication, and good follow-through.
  • Support team members to do the same.
  • Demonstrate use and support of the trauma-informed model in all aspects of employment, including interactions with clients/students, family members, other employees, community members, and stakeholders.
  • Respond promptly to the concerns and interests of the clients, parents, guardians, funding entities, and other CFA/PHMC staff.
  • Participate in leadership development alongside other program leaders within the department of Community Mental Health.
  • Demonstrate commitment to being trauma-informed and maintaining a therapeutic environment and community that promotes safety and nonviolence as the basis for all we do with clients and staff.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of trauma-informed practices, including emotional intelligence, effective communication, understanding of the impact of trauma on development, strengths-based and person-centered practice, resilience focus, and commitment to growth and change.
  • Ensure compliance with all CFA/PHMC policies and procedures, including confidentiality and acting as a mandated reporter in accordance with the law, policies, and procedures.
  • Implement all documentation requirements, ensuring that reports are complete, thorough, timely, and written in the prescribed format.
  • Ensure that staff members do the same.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
