About The Position

Our team in Space and Defense Group is looking for an Assembly & Test (A&T) Engineering Technician to join them. You will report to the Sr. Operations Coordinator and will have an onsite work schedule in East Aurora, NY. This role involves performing development hydraulic test and assembly, providing engineering support to solve challenging problems, and serving as the primary point of contact for Assembly & Test personnel. You will also provide technical guidance, support product and process improvement projects, ensure product integrity through failure investigations, and provide clear production instructions. Additionally, you will support equipment evaluation and implementation, work with engineering drawings, and periodically work additional hours to support program goals and product demand.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • At least 5 years of relevant A&T experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform development hydraulic test and assembly approximately 40-50% of the time to ensure department requirements and turnaround times are met.
  • Provide engineering support to solve challenging problems on a complex product line and serve as the primary point of contact for any questions or concerns from Assembly & Test personnel.
  • Provide technical guidance to Assembly & Test personnel and serve as an assembly process expert for inquiries from all functions, utilizing strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Support Assembly & Test operations by performing product and process improvement projects.
  • Ensure product integrity of all hardware on the product line through failure investigations and escalations when required, using hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Provide clear production instructions to Assembly & Test personnel to maintain efficiency including formal Work Instructions and Electronic Historical Record (EHR) entries.
  • Support equipment evaluation and implementation to meet production requirements including assembly fixtures and tools, production flow-line systems, and test equipment.
  • Work directly with engineering drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.
  • Periodically work additional hours to support program goals and product demand as needed.
