About The Position

Yingling Aviation is hiring A&P mechanics at every experience level for its Piston/Turboprop Department in Wichita, Kansas. The department maintains, inspects and repairs piston and turboprop aircraft, including aircraft from Cessna, Beechcraft and Epic. This is an on-site second-shift position with a published grade-based pay scale; starting grade is based on verified aircraft maintenance experience. Mechanics work with limited management presence on site and are expected to make sound decisions, solve problems, maintain accurate paperwork and provide clear shift handovers. Senior-grade mechanics may lead crews and take on advanced troubleshooting, engine runs, special projects, inspection events, and mentoring. The schedule is full-time, Monday through Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Published base rates range from $32.00 to $48.00 per hour, with a $2.00 second-shift differential paid for every hour worked. Eligible Grade 2 and higher mechanics assigned to lead a crew receive an additional $2.00 per hour. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered to A&P mechanics and leads. Overtime is paid at time and a half. The role includes maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, modification and operational checks on piston and turboprop aircraft, performed in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer manuals and company procedures. Work is inspected by Quality Assurance, which issues inspection and return-to-service approvals under the repair station certificate. Mechanics coordinate with Quality Assurance, Planning, Engineering, Parts and crew leads, complete assigned company and OEM training, and use Corridor to record time and work performed. Yingling Aviation describes itself as a full-service aviation company and boutique-style MRO focused on customer service, employee empowerment and training. Career advancement follows a published three-grade pay ladder, with advancement reviews each January and potential in-grade merit increases. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, training and professional development opportunities, shift differentials, and the sign-on bonus.
