About The Position

Winyah Air is looking to hire an A&P Mechanic for their location in Georgetown, SC. The A&P Mechanic will be responsible for performing inspection, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft airframes, engines, and related systems to ensure airworthiness and compliance with FAA regulations.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe & Power plant (A&P) Certificate.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years hands-on aircraft maintenance experience
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights/weekends if needed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-critical environment with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet all FAA requirements and approval for the Director of Maintenance Designation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with the Pilatus PC-12
  • Possess a valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Medical Certificate.
  • Avionics or NDT (non-destructive testing) knowledge
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ten (10) plus years’ experience in aviation maintenance supervisor positions.
  • At least 10 current years’ experience in commercial aviation maintenance leadership.
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) license preferred.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience maintaining turboprop aircraft
  • Demonstrated leadership and facilitation skills
  • Proven background of engaging and motivating employees at all levels to maintain a cohesive team and high employee retention
  • A&P school or military aviation maintenance training preferred

Responsibilities

  • Inspect airframes, engines, and components for wear, damage, or defects
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance per manufacturer and FAA guidelines
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and structural systems
  • Remove, install, and test engines, propellers, and related components
  • Complete and sign off maintenance logs and required documentation
  • Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections
  • Ensure compliance with FAA Part 43 and Part 145 regulations
  • Coordinate with pilots, inspectors, and other maintenance staff
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • All other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance
