About The Position

Textron Aviation is hiring an A&P Mechanic in Independence, Kansas. The mechanic assembles, troubleshoots, and repairs airframes, engines, and aircraft systems; performs aircraft modifications; and carries out engine and propeller buildup, installation, and adjustments. The role also involves preparing aircraft for flight and delivery, maintaining airworthy aircraft, and completing required inspections and records. Mechanics may train team members, assist with certifications, lead projects, and advance safety or quality improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma, equivalent certificate, or bronze-level WorkKeys certification.
• A&P license.

• Three months of aircraft maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose malfunctions and disassemble, rework, repair, replace, reassemble, and adjust aircraft systems to prepare aircraft for flight and delivery.
• Troubleshoot, inspect, and repair airframes and engines; perform engine runs; and install service bulletins and kits.
• Perform aircraft tasks in accordance with high safety standards.
• Make appropriate aircraft-record entries and complete return-to-service logbook entries.
• Conduct engine maintenance on airworthy aircraft and perform annual and continued airworthiness inspections.
• Train team members, assist with certifications, lead projects, and drive safety or quality improvements.
• Perform aircraft modifications and engine and propeller buildup, installation, and adjustments as needed.
