About The Position

As an A&P Mechanic II, you will independently perform routine maintenance and inspections on aircraft, ensuring all tasks comply with aviation regulations. You will also assist in more complex repairs under guidance. This position is based stateside at Cannon AFB in New Mexico and involves rotational deployments overseas for periods of up to 90 days, depending on mission needs. The role is within the ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area, which is a leader in ISR and aviation, specializing in manned and unmanned aircraft systems integration. IAS provides end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities, including design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training, and complete logistics support. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience.
  • Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification with no prior FAA violations.
  • Must pass, written, oral and practical assessments.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations.
  • Basic understanding of applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
  • Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.
  • Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
  • Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules as required.
  • Ability to obtain a current/valid passport and be able to obtain a visa to travel internationally.
  • A United States Government Security Clearance is required for employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Aviation Maintenance or related field.
  • Specific experience with certain aircraft models.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience.
  • Able to travel on a regular basis and/or work different shifts including overtime and weekends.
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (FAR/DFARS).
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
