About The Position

As an A&P Mechanic II, you will independently perform routine maintenance and inspections on aircraft. You will ensure all tasks comply with aviation regulations and will assist in more complex repairs under guidance. The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience. Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification with no prior FAA violations.
  • Must pass, written, oral and practical assessments.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations.
  • Basic understanding of applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
  • Must have own tools in good working order.
  • Pass and maintain Class 3 Physical requirements, including a hearing test.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Aviation Maintenance or related field.
  • Specific experience with certain aircraft models.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience.
  • Able to travel on a regular basis and/or work different shifts including overtime and weekends.
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (FAR/DFARS).
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance independently.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and document findings.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Collaborate with senior mechanics on complex repairs.
  • Ensure all work adheres to FAA and company standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities.
  • Promote a safe working environment.
