As an A&P Mechanic I, you will support senior mechanics by assisting with the maintenance, repair, and inspections of aircraft. This entry-level position focuses on learning and executing routine maintenance tasks under supervision, ensuring compliance with aviation standards. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-1 years of relevant experience.
  • Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification with no prior FAA violations.
  • Must pass, written, oral and practical assessments.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations.
  • Familiarity with applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
  • Must have own tools in good working order.
  • Pass and maintain Class 3 Physical requirements, including a hearing test.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Aviation Maintenance or related field.
  • Familiarity with common aircraft models.
  • Basic problem-solving skills.
  • FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience.
  • Able to travel on a regular basis and/or work different shifts including overtime and weekends.
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (FAR/DFARS).
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Shadow experienced mechanics during inspections and repairs.
  • Document maintenance activities under supervision.
  • Conduct routine checks on aircraft components.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
  • Participate in training and development programs.
