The Egress Systems Technician III is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, modification, troubleshooting, and operational readiness of aircraft egress systems, environmental control systems (ECS), and related airframe/avionics components. This position performs installation, removal, replacement, adjustment, and functional testing of ejection seats, canopies, explosive devices, canopy drive and locking mechanisms, and associated linkage systems in accordance with Naval aviation maintenance procedures and technical publications. The specialist conducts scheduled and unscheduled aircraft inspections, interprets technical manuals and schematic diagrams, utilizes specialized test equipment and precision measuring devices, and documents maintenance actions within NALCOMIS. Working under established safety and quality standards, the role supports mission readiness by ensuring all assigned systems meet operational and regulatory requirements while contributing to continuous maintenance excellence and aircraft reliability.
