About The Position

This role is for a 9th Grade English Teacher responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering lesson plans based on district-approved curriculum. The teacher will provide individualized and small group instruction, maintain a safe and organized classroom, and establish appropriate relationships with students, parents, and staff. Key responsibilities include regular communication with parents about student progress, collaboration with instructional staff, and evaluating student academic growth through assessments and progress reports. The position also requires a commitment to continuous professional growth and maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor. This is a 190-day contract position for the 2026-2027 school year.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Valid AR teaching license
• Clean background check
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of relevant technology

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans based on district approved curriculum
• Provide individualized and small group instruction as needed to create a personalized learning experience for each student
• Maintains a safe, organized classroom through effective classroom management
• Establishes and maintains appropriate relationships with students, parents, community members and staff
• Communicates regularly with parents regarding their child’s academic and behavioral progress
• Collaborates with all instructional staff and other school personnel
• Evaluates students’ academic growth by administering developmentally appropriate assessments, maintaining accurate records and preparing progress reports
• Demonstrates a commitment to continuous professional growth by participating in professional development and other meetings as needed in accordance with District and Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) guidelines
• Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates behavior that is conscientious and responsible
• Performs other duties as assigned by principal
