About The Position

Albany Area Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as a Long Term Substitute for 8th Grade Math for up to 12 weeks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Valid teaching certification or substitute license eligible in Minnesota.
• Ability to quickly learn technology, teaching practices, and follow standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture.
• Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement in teaching practices.
• Background check and clearance as required by school district policies.

Nice To Haves

• Experience teaching middle school students, preferably in a math-related subject.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the 8th-grade math curriculum and state standards.
• Assess and evaluate student performance through tests, quizzes, and assignments, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a growth mindset.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to support school-wide initiatives and participate in professional development opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
• Provide additional support and resources for students who may need extra help or enrichment.
• Uphold school policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment for all students.
