About The Position

This position is for an 8th Grade Assistant Football Coach at Waukee Middle School and North Middle School. The role requires a candidate who possesses a valid coaching authorization or the credentials of a certified teacher with an endorsement for coaching. The coach must demonstrate aptitude for the listed tasks, exhibit ethical practices, and serve as a role model to students. Alternatives to these qualifications may be considered by the Board. The coach will stay current with new ideas and techniques in football, be knowledgeable of all rules and regulations, and coach individual participants in necessary skill areas. Duties will be assigned by the head coach, including clerical work, strategy meetings, equipment management, and facility preparation/supervision. The assistant coach is expected to support the head coach's policies and rules to foster the growth of the sport program at all levels. Other coaching-related duties may also be assigned.

• Possess a valid coaching authorization or the credentials of a certified teacher with an endorsement for coaching
• Demonstrated aptitude for performing tasks listed
• Must exhibit ethical practices, and be a role model to students

Responsibilities

• Keep abreast of new ideas and techniques in the sports field assigned
• Be knowledgeable of rules and regulations plus changes that occur
• Coach individual participants in the skill areas necessary for excellent achievement in the sports involved, as assigned by the head coach
• Carry out duties as assigned by the head coach in the sport involved as it would pertain to clerical work, strategy meetings, equipment issue and return, facility preparations and supervision
• Support the head coach by abiding by his/her policies and rules which are set forth to help maintain growth of the total sport program at all levels
• Other duties as assigned related to coaching
