About The Position

Creative STEAM Academy is looking for an inspiring, energetic, and experienced 7th Grade Teacher to join our growing homeschool learning center community. We are not looking for someone who simply “covers curriculum.” We are looking for a teacher who brings learning to life, builds meaningful relationships with students, and creates a classroom where middle schoolers feel challenged, supported, and excited to learn. Our ideal teacher is creative, organized, warm, and confident working with middle school students. You should enjoy teaching through hands-on projects, meaningful discussions, writing, collaboration, problem-solving, and real-world connections. Creative STEAM Academy is a unique TK–8 homeschool learning center in Laguna Woods that blends strong academics with creativity, project-based learning, STEAM exploration, and a close-knit community feel. Our students thrive in small class settings where teachers can truly know each child and help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Requirements

Classroom teaching experience required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to lesson plan, manage a classroom, and support diverse learners
A positive attitude and genuine love for teaching

Nice To Haves

Experience teaching middle school strongly preferred
Love working with middle school students
Understand that 7th graders need both structure and encouragement
Are creative, engaging, and passionate about education
Can balance academic expectations with hands-on, meaningful learning
Are dependable, professional, and organized
Believe students learn best when they feel seen, supported, and inspired

Responsibilities

Create engaging, well-structured lessons for middle school students
Teach with warmth, creativity, and strong classroom management
Support students in reading, writing, critical thinking, discussion, and project-based learning
Build confidence, independence, and accountability in students
Communicate professionally and positively with families and staff
Bring enthusiasm, flexibility, and a team-player mindset to our campus
Create a classroom culture where students feel safe, respected, and motivated
