About The Position

Hamilton County Schools is hiring a 7th Grade Science Teacher at Orchard Knob Middle School, a grades 6–8 learning community in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The school focuses on accelerating student achievement through rigorous, standards-aligned instruction, targeted interventions, data-driven practices, and strong relationships. Students have access to college and career pathway experiences, athletics, after-school programming, and an eLab digital fabrication space. The school seeks a high-energy, student-centered educator with strong content knowledge who embraces high expectations, uses data to guide instruction, and engages in continuous professional learning. The teacher will plan, deliver, and assess science instruction aligned with Tennessee standards, support students with differentiated instruction, and contribute to a structured classroom and collaborative school community. The starting salary is $50,000, with the salary scale based on education and experience. Eligible positions may qualify for additional pay under the Differentiated Compensation Plan.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree.
Valid Tennessee teaching license in Science 6–8 or 6–12, or current enrollment in an accredited teacher preparation program.
Strong content and classroom management skills.
