About The Position

Ooltewah Middle School is a 6-8 school located in Ooltewah, TN, just outside of Chattanooga. Teachers at Ooltewah Middle can expect a supportive and collaborative climate, including a New Teacher Academy led by our instructional coach, a mentor teacher for new teachers, grade level teams, and weekly collaborative planning with content partners. The school also has a strong Fine Arts Program and believes that students need multiple opportunities to express themselves. We are looking for teaching candidates who can develop strong relationships with diverse students, parents, and staff, and who want to collaborate, seek innovative strategies, are team players, and believe all students can learn.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Valid Tennessee teaching license in Mathematics 6-8, 6-12 Mathematics OR current enrollment in an accredited teacher preparation program
- Positive, student-focused educators with strong content and classroom management skills
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
- Committed to high expectations and academic achievement for all students
- Open to feedback, coaching, and continuous growth
Nice To Haves
- Experience in Title I or high-need school settings is a plus
- Passion for supporting the whole child academically and socially
Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess effective instruction aligned to Tennessee state standards
- Design engaging lessons with clear objectives and measurable outcomes
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
