About The Position

St. Matthew School is seeking a 7th Grade Math and Science Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year. The teacher will be responsible for assisting students in mastering the skills and information in the school curriculum while helping them to grow in faith and responsibility. This role involves integrating Catholic teachings and virtues, understanding student learning and development, planning and delivering effective instruction, creating Christ-centered learning environments, collaborating with stakeholders, and pursuing professional growth.

Requirements

  • Hold an appropriate Ohio Teaching License (Professional, Permanent, or Resident Educator) or be eligible to obtain one before beginning to teach.
  • Current satisfactory BCI & FBI background checks.
  • Have attended or be willing to attend a Virtus Protecting God's Children training.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Know, understand, and contribute to the integration of Catholic teachings and virtues.
  • Understand student learning, development, and faith formation while respecting diversity.
  • Know and understand the content for which they have instructional responsibility.
  • Understand and use varied assessments to inform instruction, evaluate, and ensure student learning.
  • Plan and deliver effective instruction that advances the learning of each individual student.
  • Create Christ-centered learning environments that promote high levels of learning and achievement for all students.
  • Collaborate and communicate with students, parents, other educators, administrators, and the faith community.
  • Assume responsibility for their professional academic/spiritual growth, performance, and involvement.
