About The Position

Rocky Mountain Prep (RMP) is seeking a 7th Grade English Language Arts Teacher for its Federal Campus. This role is central to RMP's mission of democratizing college access for historically marginalized students. This position is 100% in-person and requires all school-based staff to work on-site daily.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree (any subject)
• Within the first year of employment, complete CDE READ Act training or CDE Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) -45 contact hours.
• Pass a background check.
• Demonstrate Eligibility to work in the United States.
• Confirm identity and employment eligibility using E-Verify.

Responsibilities

• Read and fall in love with the unit texts, cultivating deep enthusiasm to engage students.
• Write grade-level exemplars of writing tasks, diagnose writing challenges, and efficiently give batch feedback to support student improvement.
• Be a scholar of the Common Core Standards, using them to define the bar of rigor.
• Be a scholar of the Science of Reading, continuously improving literacy instruction with evidence-based strategies.
• Champion the Accelerated Reading Goal by modeling and supporting students in achieving the goal of reading 2 million words.
• Champion the Reading Academy program, supporting students in becoming confident and capable readers.
• Take ownership of student outcomes by setting high expectations, using data to guide instruction, and ensuring all scholars grow through strong planning, rigorous teaching, and timely re-teaching.
• Build inclusive, relationship-centered classrooms by implementing proactive routines, culturally responsive practices, and consistent communication with families.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues and support staff.
• Contribute to school-wide initiatives.
• Support daily operations to maintain a safe and organized environment.
• Model RMP’s PEAK values in all interactions.
• Remain flexible and responsive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment aligned to our evolving Concept Essence.
