About The Position
The Roger Bacon Academy is seeking an outstanding 6th grade English Language Arts Teacher for the 2026-27 school year at Classical Charter Schools of Leland in Leland, NC. This education management organization manages multiple award-winning public charter schools in southeastern North Carolina. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Education and a passion for inspiring young minds. The school utilizes a researched-based Direct Instruction curriculum focusing on phonics, penmanship, spelling, grammar, style, mathematics, science, music, and art, drawing from classical sources to provide a strong foundation in western civilization. The academy's mission is to provide the finest educational foundation for the community's children, expecting employees to be prepared, continuously improve, make a difference, understand students, and possess a compassionate heart to help each child reach their potential. The school believes every child can learn when properly taught and uses Direct Instruction to maintain high behavioral and academic standards, with specific methods and support for behavior management and academic success, offering a rewarding opportunity to witness student transformations.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in education.
- Valid teaching certificate from North Carolina or partnering state in the area for which candidate is applying.
- Must be on their feet at all times during the day, requiring constant circulation throughout the room working with individual students.
