About The Position

This is an extra duty position for a 6th Grade Boys Basketball Coach at Perry Heights Middle School for the 2026-27 school year. The primary function is to develop and implement an exemplary athletic program that provides the highest quality education and growth opportunities for every student athlete. The role involves ensuring compliance with school policies, working cooperatively with staff, relating positively to parents and community, demonstrating professional growth, completing records and reports accurately, accepting responsibilities beyond the team setting, caring for materials and facilities, and ensuring a safe environment. It also includes fostering positive interactions among student-athletes, building supportive relationships, demonstrating enthusiasm, promoting self-direction, and creating clear standards for behavior and academic performance. The coach must exhibit comprehensive knowledge of basketball, adapt instruction to student needs, develop and sustain an organized program, and use appropriate coaching techniques. The pay for this position is $1063.

Requirements

Prior coaching experience preferred.

Clearly convey fundamental coaching expectations to student athletes and explain their significance for personal, athletic, and academic growth.

Maintain an effective system of monitoring student progress and to inform appropriate persons.
