About The Position

The Welder fabricates, repairs, and assembles metal components using various welding processes in accordance with contract/job specifications and quality assurance requirements.

Requirements

Standing
Walking
Turning, twisting, bending, and stooping
Pushing and Pulling
Reaching, forward and overhead
Climbing
Balancing, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing
Lifting - employees must lift to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
Must be able to pass a background check
Must be able to pass written and practical 6gr welding test(s)
Knowledge of welding techniques and tools
Reliable transportation to and from work location
Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, mud, etc.
They may also be exposed to fumes (Paint, paint thinners, diesel, /or gas, etc.)

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or GED
1+ years of welding experience

Responsibilities

Cut, grind and weld metal parts
Set and operate welding machine for various welding processes
Prepare weld surfaces, maintain equipment, interpret blueprints and ensure safety protocols are followed
Inspect welds and joints for quality, durability and accuracy
Work closely with other welders to complete tasks efficiently and meet project deadlines
Perform welding assignments in a safe and efficient manner, practicing safety at all times
Perform other duties assigned by supervisor
