About The Position

The 5th Grade Teacher is responsible for providing engaging, developmentally appropriate, and standards-aligned instruction to fifth-grade students. The ideal candidate will create a supportive and structured classroom environment that encourages curiosity, academic growth, collaboration, and student success.

Requirements

Valid K–6 North Carolina teaching license required.
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required.
Strong knowledge of elementary curriculum, instructional best practices, and the developmental needs of fifth-grade students.
Ability to create an engaging, well-managed, and student-centered classroom.
Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to collaboration, professionalism, and continuous professional growth.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction for fifth-grade students.
Develop and implement curriculum, assessments, projects, and learning experiences that support a range of learning needs.
Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
Differentiate instruction to meet the academic, developmental, and individual needs of students.
Assess student learning through assignments, projects, tests, and other appropriate measures.
Maintain accurate grades, attendance, and student records in accordance with school procedures.
Communicate regularly and professionally with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and needs.
Collaborate with grade-level team members and support staff to promote student success.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school activities, and other assigned responsibilities.
Support the school’s mission, policies, and commitment to academic excellence and character development.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
