About The Position

Villa Bella Expeditionary (VBE) is a newer K-8th District 70 charter school that utilizes the Expeditionary Learning/professional development curriculum and Illustrative Mathematics. VBE follows the District 70 calendar but requires professional development at least one Friday per month. VBE is seeking energetic, compassionate, and hard-working individuals whose educational philosophies align with EL Education. The teacher will serve as a learning facilitator, instructor, coach, mentor, and tutor in the classroom, providing a personalized learning environment that fosters collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, technology, and communication to meet meaningful learning targets aligned with Colorado State Standards. The goal is to create an environment where each student achieves and grows.

Requirements

  • Colorado Educator License
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Demonstrate proficiency in applying instructional technology standards for personal productivity and supporting instruction (productivity and presentation tools and software, multimedia equipment, online learning environments).
  • Possess basic organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including problem-solving and investigative skills.
  • Effective and efficient time/task management skills.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
  • Practical communication skills, including the ability to run effective meetings and facilitate collaboration and communication among groups.
  • Reliable and resourceful with a solid work ethic.
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity and acceptance of all students.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a learning facilitator, instructor, coach, mentor, and tutor in the classroom.
  • Provide a personalized learning environment for all students.
  • Incorporate collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, technology, and communication to support meaningful learning targets aligned with Colorado State Standards.
  • Ensure each student's achievement and growth are attained.
  • Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and dispositions to meet all Colorado State Teacher Standards.
  • Support the planning and implementation of the VBE's strategic plan.
  • Design, implement, and assess learning experiences using research-based, culturally relevant instructional practices, technology, and digital resources to fully implement the VBE's curriculum.
  • Respond to student needs based on the evaluation of student achievement data.
  • Collect and maintain student achievement data as requested by the supervisor.
  • Embed effective instructional technology, including Apple TV, mobile devices, social and collaborative online communities, personalized learning software, web-based assessments, computer applications, and digital resources.
  • Apply knowledge to facilitate and communicate effective differentiated classroom practices and educational pedagogy for general education, English as a Second Language, and special education students.
  • Promote, support, and model the exploration of real-world issues and the solving of authentic problems.
  • Customize and personalize learning activities to address diverse student learning styles, working strategies, and abilities.
  • Evaluate and reflect on current research and professional practice regularly to effectively use existing and emerging instructional practices and resources to support student learning.
  • Reflect collaboratively with teachers regularly on research-based differentiated instructional practices, integration of information technology, and student achievement.
  • Advocate, model, and teach safe, legal, and ethical use of digital information and technology, including respect for copyright, intellectual property, and appropriate source documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with parents through various methods, including conferences, phone calls, emails, and meetings.
  • Demonstrate leadership by actively participating in building and district professional learning communities.
  • Maintain competency in information, technology, and media literacies by participating in online collaborative learning environments and professional learning activities.
  • Reflect on current competencies with an Expeditionary Learning curriculum, research-based instructional practices, and instructional technology to identify growth areas for personal and professional learning.
  • Maintain competency in research-based instructional practices, instructional technology, and information literacy standards by participating in appropriate professional learning activities.
  • Complete other duties as assigned, such as mandatory Friday professional development, after-school meetings, and activities.
